How to use Klonopin
How to Use Klonopin (Clonazepam)
Take medicines as directed by your healthcare provider. Never take more than prescribed, more often than prescribed, or for longer than prescribed.
The dose of clonazepam is a dose-by-dose prescription
Do not assume that 0.5mg, 1mg, or 2mg is safe based on something you read online. Your dose depends on your personal medical needs and what your prescriber determined is right for you.
Do not double up on missed doses
If you miss a dose, follow your healthcare provider's directions. Never take an extra dose unless specifically told to do so.
Avoid Alcohol
Clonazepam has a greater sedative effect when taken with alcohol. Combining alcohol with sedating medicines can be dangerous. Talk to your healthcare provider about any medicines or substances you are taking. Let your doctor or pharmacist know about every medication, including anything that causes drowsiness or affects breathing.
Can You Drive on Klonopin?
Clonazepam can affect alertness, coordination, and reaction time. Never drive or use machinery when drowsy, dizzy, or unable to concentrate. Talk with your healthcare provider if you are worried about driving while taking your medication. Do not stop taking Klonopin without medical advice if you have been taking it regularly. Stopping abruptly can cause withdrawal. Your healthcare provider can advise whether a gradual reduction is appropriate.
